Concept
The Way of the Heart
The way of the heart lies in the integration of
our earthly
and spiritual energies. In the very center of our being is
who we
truly are. Through this path lies the journey towards our
own self-renewal
and the possibility to unite with our higher selves. Only
then can
we help shift this world direction to a higher level where
love
and goodness will find space and time, where space and
time will
find eternity
The aim of these paintings is to suggest a balance and
integration
between space, time and eternity, between body, mind and
spirit,
between earth, humanity and heaven. The symbols of the
square, the
spiral and the diamond are a simple code to interpret such
a vast
thought.

Native Spirit
This collection of paintings depicts the fusion and union
of nature
and inspiration, a place where there is no conflict, the
neutral
point which becomes the starting point for all
transformations.
In my recent works I have found great inspiration in
depicting the
Temple Era as a subject to explore and have endeavoured to
work
on associating the symbols and decorative motifs that were
then
used with a deeper meaning, one that connects with symbols
and motifs
used throughout the ages to depict nature, earth and
heavenly energies,
meditation, a cyclical world view and the union of God and
man/woman.

The Oracle
Looking
closely at some of the goddess statues and statuettes, I
grouped
six of them together and illustrated them in perfect
likeness suggesting
titles that inspire awareness and the process of
meditation. ‘Oracle’
is six archaeological finds representing ancient deities.
Their
universal message of truth comes through clearly in their
strong
postures. Look at one goddess at a time then read the
complete message.
The spiral is no co-incidental motif, but a symbol of
energy. The
double spiral symbolizes energy from the heavens and
energy from
earth. When these are in balance (and this is the primary
principle
of prayer or meditation) then the phenomenon of awareness
occurs
leading us to experience union with God.
But remember: the perfect way knows no difficulties except
that
it refuses to make preferences. One tenth of an inches
difference
and Heaven and Earth are set apart.

Earth
and Sky
In 1995 I developed a series of paintings ‘The Story of
Earth and Sky’ which came to me after centring my mind.
The works were essentially mandalic and evolved
naturally as I
went through the process of order. Man and woman have
always understood
that their state of consciousness is related to the
balancing
and flow of their own opposing subtle energy currents.
In ‘The
Story of Earth and Sky,’ I illustrated this phenomenon
in
the simple balance between male and female energies at
the same
time quoting from Genesis ‘The Seven Days of Creation’.
These opposing solar and lunar currents have been known
in many
forms and traditions. Only a balance and union of these
two may
bring ‘the light of pure consciousness’. The circulation
of this ‘Light’ is the basis of meditation.

12 Thoughts
These twelve thoughts came to me after applying Dr.
Edward DeBono’s
lateral thinking tools on my own creativity. I was
searching for
the spirit of truth which is often obscured by the
confusion around
us and within us. I found this simple path of thoughts
where the
journey through them can be understood through
intellect, known
as feelings and through the paintings felt as presence.
These
paintings are intended to bring focus on the boundless
universality
of the heart, which is the key to integrate our earthly
human
life with a heavenly spiritual existence.
